Reuben and Rose (Wedding)

I was so thrilled and excited and honored when Rose asked me to capture her wedding day.

I’ve known Rose for some time, and even had the privilege of traveling to Uganda with her. I’ve watched her grow and learn about God, and it’s been beautiful.

Capturing her and Reuben’s wedding day was just such an honor, and I am humbled that I truly have the most wonderful job.

The wedding was at Rose’s home farm, which was beautiful, nostalgic, and heartwarming. She got ready in her childhood bedroom, and took photos in the fields where she went riding, and the woods where she made forts. It was like a dream.

A girl’s first look is always so fun.

Story time!

When the guys went to get ready in the morning. NONE of them had white shirts. Apparently the place where they ordered their clothes forgot to send them. (Like WHAT?!) So they literally had to go out and buy white shirts the morning of the wedding!

Luckily I always add extra time into the wedding day timeline, so with a few adjustments we easily caught up.

First looks always get me all teary.

I just love my couples.

Reuben and Rose took communion with their bridal party before the wedding, and it was the most beautiful thing! Future brides, note this for your own wedding!

The ceremony.

Rose rode in on her beautiful horse, and for me, (who as a kid begged for a horse every birthday and Christmas) it was just so beautiful.

The Reception. Complete with good Amish food, a bouquet toss, and an all out cake fight it was just so fun.

The atmosphere was so relaxed and so fun, with no one in a hurry to get anywhere.

After the food, we headed out to take some more portraits, this time with Rose’s best friend, Midnight. In Rose’s words photos with her horse on her wedding day was a DREAM COME TRUE.

And I’m going to be honest with you guys, to take such gorgeous photos was a dream come true for me too!

After some more games, they exited with style. Fireworks, sparklers, confetti, they had it all.

After the send off all the men involved flocked around me to see the photos. I loved it. And they loved the photos.

What a wonderful, wonderful day. I think I say this every single blog post, but I just really really really love my job. And I’m so grateful for the opportunity to capture such treasured moments.

Thanks again, Reuben and Rose, capturing your day was such an honor.
